Working with the wonderful, powerful malachite over the last few weeks was an experience to say the least.

Malachite is an absolutely gorgeous green coper carbonate mineral, part of the monolithic crystal system and has a swirling pattern with a silky luster. Malachite that has been crystallized (rare form) will display long needle-like looking stalactites. Malachite was believed to be used in ancient Egypt as early as 3000 B.C. and can be found in Romania, Zambia, Middle East, Russia, and Republic of the Congo.
